Aiptasia Infestation!

I believe I've got a problem! I hadn't checked behind my rocks in awhile, but the other day, I checked back there, and found a glass anemone about four inches tall! Unfortunately, I forgot that it could be aiptasia, and now, there are tiny little anemones popping up everywhere in my tank! I'd estimate about 10-15 right now.
What's worse, I put in four peppermint shrimp to deal with them, and all four peppermint shrimp dissapeared the next day!
Could the large aiptasia have killed them?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I really doubt aiptasia would kill peppermint shrimp -- what else do you keep in the tank?
A strong kalk solution and syringed onto the aiptasia has killed 2 out of the 3 I have (one stubborn one left). I've heard Joe's Juice works or a vinegar solution works as well but I haven't tried those.
I good strong limewater mix in a syringe or turkey baster (you'll cover more with a baster if anything sensitive is close though) and just coat the suckers. They'll shrivel and 66% chance of taking them out

Oh, I have 4 peppermint shrimp and they don't touch it -- some do some don't.

Here's my fish list in case that might help:
Sailfin Tang
Royal Gramma
Purple Dottyback
Yellow Tang
Mated Pair Black Clownfish
Golden Head Sleeper Goby
6-inch long Engineer Goby (ate 2 firefish before)
Striped Cardinalfish
I don't think any of these will eat peppermint shrimp, will they?

I don't know about a purple dottyback, buy I had a royal dottyback that was vicious. I tried to add 3 peppermint shrimp one day and the dottyback attacked it immediatly. Between the dottyback and my yellow wrasse, the 3 shrimp were finished off in 5 minutes!

Your Pep's probably aren't dead. They are often cave dwellers. Mine stays completely out of sight except for wee hours of the night when he comes out to scavenge around. And personal experience, they sometimes will keep tiny aptasia at bay, but won't touch the larger one's.

That's too bad - I had a small aiptasia outbreak a few weeks ago. I bought Aiptasia-X and three peppermint shrimp and gave the shrimp a chance to do their thing before adding the chemicals. Within 48 hours all aiptasia was gone (plus the gobbled up two smaller mejanos I had been a little concerned with as well!!)

I forgot to add that aiptasia-x worked for me. I tried kalkwasser (spelling?) but it didn't work for me. They would always come back.

Thanks for the quick replies. I'll check the tank tonight when its dark and try and see the shrimp. I forgot to mention that my red fire shrimp also disappeared along with them. If all else fails, I'll try the suggested chemicals. Thanks again!
