Primarily corals due to there stings....but they could pose problems for fish if they are in large enough numbers and allowed to over-run your display.

I have one aitapsia that won't die!!! Squirted him with Joe's Juice 4 times over the last 3 months. After each treatment, it comes back about 2 weeks later. Hasn't spread anywhere thank goodness.

I had a huge aptasia problem. after 6 months they over ran my LR and my fish would not even go near it. I got a lemon peel angel and a file fish at the same time and they ate all the Aptasia in about a month but then they started eating all my inverts and almost got my brittle star. I pulled them out and sold them to the local pet store. I haven't had a problem scince. :happyfish

There is a nudi that some reefers employ in their tanks to control it. Aiptasia is all it eats. Can order them online. Berghia verrucicornis aka Aeolidella stephanieae.

I had an aiptasia problem to, but I got some pepermint shrimp to get rid of them. Fresh water don't work. I don't know who ever cam up with that idea, but i tried it and they multiplied like crazy after i shot water in them. They seem to throw up all their babies when you try to murder them.lol the best way to get rid of them is with shrimp or I think a copper band butterfly eats them too.

oh yeah, I almost forgot. the biggest aipasia was about 5 inches tall. I thought it was pretty cool until I was told they will eat a fish! :happyfish

...I had a small aiptasia problem. Wasn't really a problem, just had about 3 of them throughout my tank that I could find if I looked. Bought a peppermint shrimp... My coral banded shrimp ate it after 3 or 4 days.
Don't see them anymore and the tank has been up for over a year... Maybe my orange finned tang??? =P

I just killed this guy a month ago. I used to feed it pellets. Was cool to watch it eat. When it multiplied I nuked it with lemon juice. The rest (about 20 offspring) were cleaned by a threadfin butterfly in a matter of days. The lfs just tosses in a threadfin when it's time to clear their coral tanks of aiptasia.
At the time of death it could span 6" across and was just over 5" tall.
