Aiptasia?

Is this aiptasia? I have two spots on my rock (as indicated by pics). I used to have a small amount but they were red, thinner, and had a stem. These appear to be coming out from the rock, becuz i was messing with some rocks and i wanted to poke it to see if it would sting me and it retracted in the rock sorta like a feather duster. Well, here's the pics:

Sorry. Either isolate the rock, or just get it out. Its not worth the price of one rock to battle it in your tank. If its spread then:
Get a peppermint shrimp
Take some calcium and make a paste. Cover the aiptasia with the paste. Be ready with an air-tube a bucket and some fresh saltwater. First turn off all the flow. After you put the paste on the aspasia it will go everywhere. Use the tube to create suction and vacuum it up. Add fresh salt water to replace what was syphoned off. Depending how bad they spread you may need to do this every several days.
Good luck.

Ok, I just thought it was some wierd aiptasia, so i didnt know if it was aiptasia. I can get rid of it, my old scarlet hermit tore up a dozen or so of them within an hour or so, i have a blue leg, but its small and stays on the other side of the tank, so i'll just move it to the aiptasia and see if it'll feast

There is this stuff at my LFS called joes juice and it does work killing aiptasia. You feed it to the anenome and Joes juice does the rest.

The concentrated lemon juice in the fake lemons is what you need to use. I guess a real lemon would work as well.
Peppermints will eat Aip if it snot overly large, and you do happen to have a true peppermint shrimp.
Are you suire the hermit is eating the aip or just destroying it. I have never seen or heard of hermnits being mush help in controlling aip, but they are pretty apt to help spread it by tearing it into smaller pieces which then propagate elsewhere in the tank pretty rapidly. Calcium paste also works as has already been posted.

I bought a medium sized scarlet hermit and it ate everything in the tank, mostly the snails. But he tore the aiptasia's that were on the rock when i first got it out and i saw him eat them, and he ate alot of bubble algae too. I've heard of scarlet's eating them, btu since my scarlet has since died and the blue leg i have now is really small, i dont see it taking care of it.... also will any of the methods (besides the joe's juice... im cheap) hurt anything else, cuz right beside one is my frogspawn, and the other is right above my yellow watchman goby's cave, so i've got the two main things in my tank near the aiptasia.

Yeah i use the fake lemon with the juice, its got that great little drip spout. I place the needle inside the drip spout and take a a little and infect into each stem i come across. Once twice that's it dead shrivled up no to be found.
