air bubbles under my live rock?

i noticed i have big bubbles here an there under pieces of my live rock. These are not little bubbles there pretty good sized id say about the size of a half of a marble. Theres probably 10 to 15 of these under pieces of my live rock? what could this be?

first question that came to my mind is "underground filtration?"
next one was, have you lifted the rocks to let the air go and it come's back?
then was, how long has the substrate been there, cc or sand?
just asking for mo info bro:D

no underground fiter, and no i havent lifted the rocks to let them out which i could do i think it might of got there from my powerhead not sure tho...

i've taken the air tube out of my powerheads a long time ago after noticing that no lf store or pic online used air through ph's. i now don't run any air bubbles through my actual tank, only through filters or preferably just use a skimmer. air bubbles in the tank can cause problems with a lot of reef creatures. i've heard.
