Air Pump

I have a Air Pump one of those nice designed quite blue ones , its the biggest one made , anyway how do i hook it up , i got the air stone , but when i turn the air pump on i cant get the darn air stones to stay down , also its making an extreme amount of bubbles is this good or bad , will it help my live rock during cycling ?? 55 gallons Fowlr , 7 days into cycle 40 lbs LR 10 Lbs LS mixed with crushed coral rock

To get the stone to stay down you would probably want to use a suction cup. If you don't like all the bubbles you could try a bubble curtain to spread them out more, or try a power head or two instead. That might actually work better bcuz it would increase water flow to help keep it oxygenated better. Plus many marine fish and corals like more flow. It will help live rock too, keeping your water from becoming stagnant. Most people suggest 1-2lbs/gal of LR and for reef around 20x volume of tank gal/hour of water flow, not sure about FOWLR though. Hope some of this helps. I'm still quite new to saltwater myself

I would remove it. use it for a freshwater tank if you have it. It's not good for saltwater. Some people use it. But IMO they will hurt you.

Bubbles are bad for a marine tank. Just use powerheads and close off the venturi valves if they have them.
