I belive my tank is going through a cano attack .
As I am wriying this I am getting 15 gal of water ready for tomorrow . last Fri I did another 15 gal. When I was taking water out I sucked up a good amount of sand with the cano on it, scraped walls , now I am going to take out poweheads clean them, heater clean that , wipe all glass again. will also move heads to try and cover more area of front of tank. any sugestions on where to put power heads will help ( now they are on side walls pointing towards front with a slight angle downward.) after this water change will do about 10 gal every week. sound good please advise
.

I think you mean cyano.....What size tank? You may have to do more frequent w/c's for a while
also what do you use for top off water....filtration....lighting

Don't you have any evaporation????
How long do you keep your lights on?
evaporation seems very small & when it gets low I will add some plain water ( it sits for a day )
7 to 8 hours for lights.
back to evaporation I am thinking about changing my filter system to a sump
( or just adding a sump to what I have now ) we can get into that after alage gets cleared up .
will check back in between innings ( phils are on )

LOL...I'm watching the Yankees

You need to look into ro/di...
I am guessing since you use "plain" water for top offs...you also usse tap water for w/c's....

the best thing that worked for me was killing the lights for a couple days
started reading your post not enough time to read all must go to work now, right now I have a lot less then you did ( sorry ) have allready turned back lighting . see what goes on with doing more water changes . also when you took outsand what did you use to get sand out. I use 1/2 inch tubing to suck out the crap on top of sand bed .
