How do you maintain the green crust like alage that grows on the tank glass? What is the best way to control it? I no about using a magnet and a scarper. I have just seen other tank on line and there glass looks perfect!!!!

Manual removal... I have 3 turbo snails and they still can't keep up. What kind of lights to you have and how long are you running them during the day?

I just use a magnet to get it off. But to prevent it, decrease lighting periods, increase flow, and cut back on feedings.

216 watts t-5 on a 90 gall....light are directly on top of the tank and run on a 9 hr day. I guess i should have said it was a upgrade to light fixture but everyday i have to use my magnet and my corners are real bad. I also have 1 turbo snail and 1 zerba snail (huge). Do you think adding more water flow slow it down???? Will the green crust like alage turn into purple after tiime?

If it is really bad then I would slowly decrease your lighting schedule and increase the flow. I don't think that the green crust like algae will turn purple.
I have to clean my glass every other day.

even with decent flow in my tank i have to clean the glass every few days with my mag float, and use this cleaning kit i bought that is a pole with different shaped pads that help with the corners, etc.

There are different colors of coralline algae. (green, pink, white, purple, red) I use a magfloat every few days and a metal blade scraper when it gets too too hard for the magnet.
I visited a fellow reefer who was using a magnet with a heater in it. It killed the coralline then it turned white and came right off. WAY KEWL!
