Algae build up.

I have a lot of build up on my aquarium glass. Would an algae magnet work good at reducing the amount of build up on the glass? Or should I buy more snails?

mag float works like a charm, snails won't get all of it

I guess I'm old fashioned, I scrape it all off :-(
My snails chomp on it quite a bit but they tend to leave my pretty patterns to look at... they think they're artists!

If I buy a mag float will my snails die because they wont have enough to eat?

no they wont die - you will still have algae growth on other surfaces for them to graze

like the back glass. i scrape front and sides, and leave the back wall. sometimes a magfloat just doesn't get it all, so i use a straight edge scraper. if your tank is acrylic, test it first in an unconspicuous place
