OK, it comes off in sheets-yucky stuff.
Nothing that I know of eats it.
USUALLY caused by we fish keepers not keeping up with our water changes and feeding too much.
There is a solution.
Siphon off as much as you can when you are changing your water-which needs to be a large water change-and may take 2-3 a week apart to clean things up.
If you have the test kits, test your Nitrates and Phophates. Nitrates above .125 and any phosphates will cause this.
If you have adequate live rock you dont need extra biomedia like bioballs or biowheels. They can actually add to the problem
You should have a good skimmer-pump it up to max.
Add some de-nitrate and de-phophate stuff to your filter system. Nitrex with a Nitrate box works well.

which blasts out All forms of undesirable algae in a matter of days-but you have to keep up with the water changes and keep those nitrates really low.
Are you using RO or distilled water?
You can also add some marine algae to your tank once the slime is gone.
