Can someone tell me if actinic light can promote algae growth? I'm battling a hair algae problem and I know part of the solution is to reduce your lighting times. I was wondering if actinic light is in the right spectrum to promote growth. If it isn't I'd like to keep my actinic lights on longer so we can at least enjoy the fish during the evenings under actinics instead of cutting all the lights off early.
