Algae on back glass

The back of my tank is covered in green algae. It is all seperate small circles.
I scraped some off and the fish ate some of it, seemed to enjoy it.
If I cleaned the back glass what would happen to the algae, would it just settle somewhere else. Obviously it isn't a problem on the back glass but I wouldn't want it anywhere else really (rocks etc).
On the other hand, I would quite like the glass clean.

do you have a powerhead? When I clean my algea off the back glass, it floats around for a little. After awhile it gets sucked into the filter. The fish eat some of it. I have never seen it settle. I like my tank spotless.

I recently had the same problem and bought a few snails... the algae has been gone ever since.
If you don't want to get snails, this probably isn't the answer you want, but when I had my tank professionally cleaned they would always just scrape it off the back. It stayed clean for a long time, so I'm not sure about the regrowth rate.
