Algae on my coral (?!)

It may be hard to tell...but there is purple hair algae that has caused 1 side to fold over...

I would try to vacuum it out, appears to maybe a type of cyano. Cyano can come in many different color forms. If it vacuums out it is indeed cyano.

You can see the stringy spores of cyano in the picture on the rock. Forum search for cyano and theres plenty of material on them here and how to get rid of it.

+1 Cyano and on your rock its cyano covering coraline algea... syphon, redirect flow, post your water chemistry, lighting, schedule, feedings, amount and how often, filtration type and water changing schedule.

looks like red slim to me. like the above poster said, reduce feeding reduce light times and direct more flow to the affected area. Also try to siphon it out as best you can.
