Algae on my live rock???

So, I'm cycling my new tank (I described it in pretty good detail in my post below) and about 3 days ago I added a 3lb piece of live rock. I've had my Duetto filter running the whole time. I have a 50/50 bulb that is timed to be on for 12 hours a day. The tank is not in direct sunlight. I've got 20lbs of live sand on the bottom of this tank that has been cycling for about 10 days now since I bought it. Now there is this green algae (I think it's algae) growing over my live rock. It appears to be spreading fairly fast. It appears to be locallized on the rock. Even under very close scutiny I can't find a trace of this green algae on the glass, sand or anywhere else in the tank. I took a good look at the rock before I put in the tank and I don't remember seeing this green algae so if it was there before I must have either glanced over it (which is possible but I think unlikely) or there must have been such a small/hidden amount that it was undetectable. Should I worry about this? Is this a normal part of the tank cycling?

Sorry, I have another question that I forgot to ask. I saw the post below from a guy comlaining that his filter is putting little bubbles into his tank. My filter has a cap that you can release that make it suck put air into the water it spits out. When I do this my tanks look similar to what he described...lots of tiny little bubbles floating around. Is there an advantage/disadvantage to this?
One thing that I noticed is that when I close that aircap the water shoots out of the filter with substantially more force. My filter (Duetto) hangs no the side of the tank near the tops and the water that comes out of it is directed to shoot across the top of the tank. With this airvalve closed it seems to be creating a pretty strong current in the tank. Kind of a circular current where if you looked at the tank head on from the front the water would be flowing clockwise (going down one side, across the bottom, up the other side [threw the filter] and then across the top). Is there a problem with a current like this? The reccomended tank size for this filter is right on par with the size of my tank.
Sorry for being longwinded but I find I get the best answers when I supply the most information.
Thank you again for the help. =o)

During the cycling process you will notice a couple types af algae come and go,this is normal. The green on your rock will most likly not survive the cycle. But dont worry for now,It's normal. The current you describe sounds good. Most of us have to add aditional pumps in our tanks to get a current like that. Sounds like your tank is comming along great. Keep up the good work.....STEVE
