Wow- and I am in tears now with my algae- I would run and never look back with that...how did that happen? I keep hearing how awesome these sea hares are but they look so ugly...maybe I should suck it up and get one?
Your algae is nothing. Get some more flow in there. Check your phosphates. Are you using RO water? I would do 25% water changes every 4 to 5 days. Get a couple Mexican turbo snails in there. Place them directly on the algae after acclimation.

Thanks for the tips I am experiencing the same only on a very mild version which needs to be checked before it gets out of hand. I have begun limiting my light cycle from hrs to hrs , covered the window across from the aquarium, reduced phosphates and nitrates, and this week I will up the cc crew with some margarita and Mexican turbo snails, a blue dot ea hare and some blue leg hermit crabs. I'll be following this thread.

Just my 2 cents.
I would only suggest a sea hare if the algae is out of control.
Turbos are great for an outbreak that is milder, and usually are fine maintaining themselves once the outbreak is finished.
IMHO I would only buy a sea hare after the turbos and other CUC did not work, or the algae is so bad that it is obvious that a sea hare is needed.
