Algae Scrubber Filtration System

Does anybody outhere have any knowledge on algae scrubbers filtration systems. I am tryng to get as much information as possible but the all the information I have has come from the manufacturers themself. Any suggestion is appreciated!

The book Reef aquariums vol 1 by Delbeek and Sprung has a chapter on them. There's not really much to them, but they are used more by institutions than home aquarists. Just need a shallow tray that water flows through with a light over it. The type of light is not as important... you can use cool white lamps, since algae is not as picky about the type of light.
