Is there a difference between saltwater and freshwater algae? Or are they switch hitters?

the hair algae i am not sure about, but there are many types of algae in sw(which do not exist in fw), many of which we desire to have

is this really that dumb of a question that no one will anwswer it? or doesn't anybody know the answer?

I think no one knows the answer. However, we don't any algae, fresh or saltwater.

the fresh water and saltwater algea are at least very close cousins probably almost the same
