I got rid of the brown diatoms but now I see pinkish purple algae on the bottom of the sand. What is this and how long will it last. Tell me what you know. Thanks
Possibly red cyanobacteria AKA red slime. As long as you keep up with water changes and keep your water parameters where they need to be, it should go away before too long.
I bought a Phosphate filter and put it over my sump filter. I change this filter once a week. All parameters in my tank are normal except my ca that is coming down. Its now 600.
