I bought some calcium about 1 month ago trying to get some color on my Lr i had the lr out of the water for like 5months so all had died so i added more lr it had purple and pink in it the problem is the only thing that has showed up is brown algae and it doesnt even show up on the rocks it shows up on the glass how do i get different color algae and keep the algae on the rocks and teh glass. thanks

Adding the rock could have triggered a diatom bloom just wait that out and keep your cal and alk up and you should be corallined out in no time.

thanks cool i guess ill just wait it out a while longer i dont have a reef tank so i dont know much about the lights and stuff i have a queen trigger. Im wondering are these diatoms brown and look like co

ebs kind of this algea that is some on my rock to is brown and sways with the water current. is this it. Thanks again.

I agree you might have a small diatiom bloom going. Take your new piece of liverock and scrape some of the coralline aglea off and get the spores around the tank this will help seed it and grow faster.
