Algae

My tank has been done cycling for three weeks now. I added a cleanup crew about 11/2 to 2 weeks ago. They have not cleared up my algae yet. I have big patches all over my tank and the keep getting bigger every day. I have 20 hermits 10 snails and 2 Emerald crabs (I think that they are still alive, I haven’t seen them in a few days). Should I add a fish to help clean up all this algae? I was going to add 2 percs as my first fish but now I am wondering if I should add a fish that eats algae. What do you all think?:mad:

booya, are you using ro/di water? i hear it will make your problems go away. i'd filled up my tank with tap water, a week ago, beginning to see brown algea on my rocks now :mad: went to get a ro/di unit this week, am planning to use it on my next water change

Dont add a fish until your cycle is well over...infact..dont add anymore livestock until the cycle is over...
You will have algae's during your cycle...you have a ton of nutrients in the tank right now for them to thrive...once the cycle is complete...do a water change and begin your routine maintenance...
After re-reading your post I see that your cycle is completed...then check for phosphates and nitrates in the water..both of which will usually cause nuisance algae...

My cycle is over!!!
NH3=0
NO2=0
NO3=so low that I would say they are 0 but there has to be some
pH=8.2
1.022
And yes they algae is green. Some looks like algae and some look like plants.
