can anyone tell me why all of a sudden I have a fast growinggreen algae showing up .it just started about a week ago but it grows so fast that I got to clean the glass almost daily.I do a water test weekly [just got done testing-p.h.-8.2 ammonia-0 nitrate-0 nitrite-0 s/l-10.20 temp 82.4]along with 20%water change weekly ,every body seems healthy& content, so why all of a sudden this ? is there a critter I could get thats a algae eating machine? I have a clean up crew in there thats been keeping things clean up till now please help thanks. :help: :help: :help:

you could try a lawnmower or bi-color blenny,
tangs usually eat this but i think your tank is to small for a tang

Same thing happened to me. Get a magnet algea scraper and a lawnmower blenny.

Are you using RO water? If not then yah theres all sorts of chemicals (phosphates,silicates) that will promote algae growth after a while. All i can recommend is like said before, to get a good magnet cleaner and some blennies . Also when the lighting hasnt been replaced in a while(even though it's still lit) it can promote algae growth.
