What are your water parameters? Is this the same 33g that you wanted to add fish to? Yes the lawnmower blenny will eat it but your better off curing the probalem then treating it.

you need to check your phosphates, your lighting schedule and your water temp. i had a bad problem with hair algae and couldnt figure out what was up. My phosphates were good my light schedule was good but i was running my temp around 79-80 degrees, and that was the key for me. I lowered my temp to 76-78 degrees. I still have a very small amount that shows up here and there but nothing like i used to have. If you get your water under control a sea hare will eat all the algae in your tank quick like. make sure you get a good sized one, and make sure your lfs will take it back when your done with it, cuz algae is all they eat
and if you don't have any it will starve. i thought id never get that algae all gone but i did and you can too
search these boards for a sea hare, there was a recent posting with pictures.
