alge help please

Ok... lets see. I have a 100g tank that has been going for about 9 months
Parameters:
pH: 8.0
Ammonia: 0ppm
nitrite: 0ppm
nitrate: 20ppm
calcium: 400
salinity: 1.0185
2x 250w MHO 8hours on
4x 55w Blue Actinic 10Hours on
Moon Lights on when the other lights are not
150lb Live Rock
100lb Live Sand
I have been doing everything I know I am supposed to do. Weekly water changes (With RO Water), Makeing sure not to overfeed, empty the skimmer when needed.
My Problem is I have this greenish alge all over the live rock. it looks like a dust. all of my corals have died. All of my fish are doing great. I went to the local fish store and they told me that a thing called Metal-Gone would get rid of it. So I did get some and it looks like very small rocks that i put in my sump. they told me it would take about a month. do you know what this is and what is causing it and how to get rid of it? the parameters above are from today

Calcium: 1000 found out this was this high because i was using purple up. (not using now and did a 15gal water change)
Salinity: 1.016 (adding salt slowly because i know this is low)

Adding salt..til its around 1.025-1.026 if your keeping corals. Do you have any type of cleaning crew in your tank? Snails? Hermit Crabs?

Yea bring ur ph up to 8.2-8.4 get ur salinity to 1.024-1.026 and ur calcium to 400 or so and go from there, and ur nitrates down some to. Didnt see anything on ur phosphates what are they reading. You want them 0 to 2 but never let them get over 2.

do not have a phosphates test kit... after you wrote what you did i got online and just ordered one. how do you bring up the pH? my calcium is 400 right now. and i am working on bring up the salinity slowly also.

You can try to use a buffer of some sort when u use this it will bring ur alk up some but at this point i would try to keep ur ph up, so u can try some sort of buffer from kent or seachem who ever u want to use.

How much water do you change with your water changes? If you do your salinity mix and bring it to 1.024-.026 and bring the tank salinity up slowly, your Ph should come up with it. There is Ph buffers in most salt mixes and if you do enough water changes, you shouldn't have to use any Ph buffers as extra.

:scared: :scared: Wholly crap. I only have 10 Turbo Snails in my 135. WOW, thats a boat load of snails. But my snails have also grown huge eaten all my algea for me. ***)
