I totally agree with DEA-MT. I have a queen and fighting conch and I have NEVER had my sand so clean. Those little critters are GREAT!!!!
Are we talking about Algea or cyno?

no offense petieaztec , its not your fault but its not funny if this kid has a ray with alot of live rock or in a small tank..they need a huge sandy bottom to roam freely and bury themseleves, which it doesnt sound like it is doing either!!

I have to say that my conch cleans my sand VERY well. I only have one since they can get quite large which is why I purchased a small one.

there's different sized conchs... but i believe a fighting queen conch will suit a 30-50 gallon tank. I plan on getting one for my 55. I also got a giant hermit crab (it's about 3"), which also keeps the sand pretty clean (but is definately not reef safe...). But petie, you definately need more circulation.

That's what mine is. I may get one more since it's doing such a great job. I have a 120g so I should be ok. I just like looking at those little eyes poking all different directions. I have one big hermit left but it prefers to stay on the rocks. When it does venture to the sand, he does a nice job stirring it up.

you should always have a variety of sizes of shells for them at all times.
