alright i have a 24 gallon nanocube going and for the past month or so i have this slimy red algea im assuming it is..like i notice that when i dont turn the lights on for a day most of it goes away but as soon as i turn the lights back on and leave them on for an extended period of time it comes back like crazy it covers the sand and my rocks and im worried because its covered my green star polyps and they arent coming out as much as they used to so any advice or products or help to get rid of this problem would be greatly appreciated

It's caused by excess nutrients in the water... do some good water changes with distilled or RO/DI water. Increasing the tank's flow may also help.
How many fish? How often do you feed?

Cut down on your feedings big time! Did you say you feed a whole cube? If so you should stop that.....that was tooooo much decaying food and silicates being introduced into such a small system. You should feed every other day.....and not frozen...cut down on that. I feed that every other feeding and I feed every other day. Very small feedings too a couple each day you are scheduled to feed.
Yes, do get a skimmer! It is a very needed item, however it will not solve the problem. It sounds like cyanobacteria...if so remove it with a turkey bastor by blowing that alge gently off the surface of what it is on. Then suck it up with the bastor. You should do this till its all gone, then shut down the fast food joint. Try some Spectrum pellets....I have great success with them.
