Alk and Calcium issues...

I am starting to turn my FOWLR tank into a reef tank and have some water issues. I have a small frag of kenya trees (that come out), some GSP (comes out) and some incrusting gorgonian that won't come out after a month of being in there. So my thought are that my alk and calcium are off and i dont know how to fix it.
PH 8.1
Calcium 25/500
Alk 18
Ammonia 0
I have 4 110W T12 VHOs on for 6 hours a day...
Any thoughts?

Your ALK and CAL are high... You need to find out why. Are you dosing anything?? As far as fixing it..Dont add any additives and it will come down by itself...OR you can do a water change.

so Im not doing with anything... but what if the PH gets out of wack? is there something to keep it at 8.2 while CAL and ALK are lowering?
I plan on going to tomm. to the LFS and get about 15 gallons of water (its a 55 gallon tank) and testing the new water before using. Then doing a water change.
Is this the issue with my corals not coming out??
