All Glass Mega Flow 4 question?

I have a 180 gallon fish only tank with a All Glass Mega Flow 4 sump. I have had the tank for about a year but I have a problem with the water leaking from the one side where the removable filter media trade lies on the sump. It only leaks out the one side but I put a level on it and it is level. I tried adjusting it many times. It usually only leaks when I add water to it to top it off or after a water change. When I top off the water should I only add it to the sump? Does anyone know if this is a common problem for this model. I know they sumps where that piece is not removable but I would need to drain the tank to remove it and replace it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem with my megaflow 1. When I watched it, the only time it leaked water was when there was a large bubble that came down the overflow pipe and caused sort of a splash as the water entered the top chamber. I solved my problem by tilting the cover so that it sloped down into the media area. The slope is away from the inlet. That way the water can't "splash" out which is what was happening. Hope this helps.

try to add water for your top off directly to the sump, depending on the capacity of your overflow when you add the water to the tank you could be increasing the speed of the overflow, causing the water to run out of the sump. I add my top off directly to the sump, does it only leak when you top off?

For the most part it only leaks when I top it off or when I need to turn off the tank for cleanings etc
