You dont want to have th eclown and the trigger together anyways,, if you want a reef tank dont buy triggers from my experience esp. a "huma-huma" they love to eat live rock and all your Corals form my exp. with my "Huma-huma" and damsels are the way to go because they can handle the high amonia levels your tank will go through, not because they are cheap.

I have 135 cycling but I have 100 lbs of ls and 125 lbs of lr and I bought 10 chromis to help with the cycle only lost 2 fish and it has been 4 days since I lost the last one. but I am not adding any new fish right now until I know for sure that this cycle is over.oh and I also used the tank water from my other saltwater tanks. so all this does make the cycle go fast. But I would not advise this unless you have the money this cycle was expensive.

man i think you are taking a huge chance. and for your good news about being in the second stage or the cycle, i have found that to be worse. i may be wrong cause i know ammonia is more toxic than nitrites but i believe by adding the bacteria in a bottle my ammonia spike was not so high. but it didnt seem to help the nitrite spike too much. so my guess is you are going to be getting into the worst part coming up in the next part. good luck, and please reconsider and take some advice from the members of this board and take back the trigger.

I have been reading and thought I would add my own experience. When I first started my tank, it was converted from fresh to salt and I let it set for 2 weeks before I added fish (thinking that because I used water from my fresh tank helped speed the cycel) My LFS started me off with a bluejaw trigger which was totally cool and a yellow boxfish he too was cool. about a week later I purchased an undulated and a niger. Wow, was I moving too fast. I started loosing my very expensive fish. Finally, at last cout, I had lost about 200.00 worth of fish not to mention my pride. So, I started over with less expensive, less aggresssive fish. (my choice) Now, everyone is doing fine. When I decided to set up another tank and start a reef tank I took it very slow. I let it cycle for about 8 weeks mostly because I couldn't afford to purchase all the rock at once and I needed to get the retro kit for the light but needless to say, 8 weeks of just water and rock. I have since added stock about 2 pieces each month and I love my tank. Moral of my long story is that when I took my time, everyone including myself was happy with the end result. I know from experience that it sucks to have water and rock alone in your tank, but The End Result is amazing. Good luck and listen the the advise you get from the board, most of them really know what they are talking about.

Just out of curiosity, do you know if the LR you have(or planning to add) is already cured? If it is cured then that speeds up your cycle time. I cycled my 72g reef tank with 110# of cured LR, and used 2 small chromis damsels, and 2 small inexpensive ocellerus(?spelling?)clowns and it worked fine.
I love triggers and IMHO I would ask your LFS owner to hold him for you(the clown also) until later and, agreeing w/ almost everyone, I would only keep 2-3 of the smallish damsels given the size of your tank. Patience is a virtue w/ a saltwater tank but I can totally understand going overboard! (It happens but at least you learn from it!) :p
Good luck and keep us posted!
ps-are you going reef or FO w/ live rock? Oh yeah, READ READ READ and READ some more... ;)
