Am I overstocked?

I have a 75 gallon tank w/ 175+ lbs of LR, 150 lbs of LS tons and tons of corals and inverts.
I also have the following fish.
1 yellow tang
2 perc clowns
2 3-stripe damsels
1 blue devil damsel
2 Molly Miller Blennies
1 Bangaii Cardnal
1 Long-Finned Fairy Wrasse
am I good? Could I possibly add one more fish, or am I already overstocked?
This tank has been up and running for almost 2 yrs w/ no problems except for some nitrate issues but I've added a fuge w/ cheato to hopefully help out the situation.

it sounds liek it should be ok. you have a decent ammount of fish but they are are small for the most part. It would depend on swimming room a bit but i think one more small fish would hurt anything.

Mainly depends on how well your biofiltration handels the bioload....and if the fish seem crowded and stressed...some on your list can be pretty aggressive and territorial with age and time and could cause stress to others. IMO, might want to look more at compatability of the fish you have now before considering adding others...

If my damsels ever become a problem, I'll get rid of the 3 of them. The 2 3-stripes have paired up, and hang out together in a little hole in the rock for the most part. The blue damsel keeps to himself, and the clowns do as well.
The yellow tang cruises the tang grazing on the assorted clips which I put nori, and 2 other types of algea on. The blennies were wild caught by my cousin about 6 months ago, and they just perch on the rocks.. The bangaii cardnal floats around carelessly.. The most agressive fish I would say is my long finned fairy wrasse, he chases the damsels around, other then that I have not had any issues or messed up fins. Like I said the majority of these fish have been together since the tank was cycled.. I originally got 2 blue devil damsels, 2 3-stripes to cycle with I lost one blue damsel and thats it.. I then got the two clowns.. followed by the yellow tang. I then got the bangaii cardnal fish. Then came the fairy wrasse, followed by the blennies and like I said i've had no problems other then the fairy wrasse occasionally chasing the damsels. I would really like to add a fox face.. what do you thing dog star?
What fish that I have do you think would be the potential problem fish?

I was mainly considering your damsels and wrasse......If alls as peacefull as you say, and I can beleive you because I know things can be as unexpected as expected in this hobby. But, because you ask, I can not recommend a Foxface in a 75g... I am one that normally like to see fish in a larger system than others may feel is nessecary...but thats just me....Your call...may have a welcomeing aggression situation with your community now when adding one. Hope the new one can handle that......

I've browsed this site for some time w/ out posting, and you seem to really know what your talking about ;-)
I've been in and out of this hobby for about 8 years, things have changed so much since when I first started.. This hobby never ceases to amaze me.
The damsels are the only ones I've ever been concerned with, because in the past I've had some reallllllllllllly nasty damsels but being that my 3 stripes paired up I couldnt just get rid of them, and the bright blue of the blue devil damsel is a nice touch in the tank as there isnt much blue, and I couldnt do regal tang in my 75..
If you were to choose the fish that I added what fish would you choose?
I do have an open top, so I dont want something like a jawfish or firefish as they are known jumpers (so is the wrasse but I havent had a problem yet.. *knock on wood*)

:thinking: not sure I understand......I like most all of those, even Foxfaces, but limited myself.....you seem to be experianced and understand the possibilities and hadzards....
I would recomend you consider one of the more hardy Dwarf Angles because you tank seems estblished and big enough and I dont think there would be an on going compatability issue once excepted.....I love my Flame Angle. Very active and colorfull fish...

I would think that the foxface would work out, especially if you say you'd get rid of the damsels if a problem ever came up..
and dogstar, I think he meant if you were to choose a fish to add what would it be..
anyway I think a foxface would work out, but let more people chime in. I would personally not mess w/ the dwarf angel because they sometimes pick at corals

Hehe... spoken like someone whose never tried to remove a damsel from a tank before.
Welcome to the boards. Sounds like you've done your research. Where did your cousin catch the Molly Millers? We have them along the Texas coast. I really like them, but never tried to catch one for my tank.

I know they can be a real pain to catch, but I made a fish trap that works quite well.. I had purchased a flame hawkfish a while back on an impluse buy later to findo out that they eat ornamental shrimp, so I got rid of him, caught him w/ the trap I made, so if i ever have a problem I'll just dig out my trap again
Anyone else have any input regarding adding a foxface?

fish are tough to catch but the trap makes it SOO much easier
