I wouold like to know where you can buy one of those and what type of lighting that it needs. I know off topic and I am sorry.
Our LFS had one. I actually became interested when I saw one in a tank at That Fish Place in Lancaster PA. I was enthralled by it and only wanted pink. So we actually were kind of surprised when a few weeks later we were at the LFS and they had a small one for $45. I wasn't about to spend that kind of money cuz I'm cheap. Our tank was too new at the time I believe to buy it anyway. By the time our tank was ready it had been sold. I had a show down in RI to go to as I am a groomer and travel to competitions and seminars and figured while I was there I would punch in "pet" into my GPS and see what was around. Well, let me tell you, Warwick RI has a TON of carpet stores! The first two pet stores I drove to had no fish at all, so I scrolled through and found one with aquarium in the name and figured that would be a sure bet. Arrived forgetting it was the weekend of the time change and they wouldn't be open for another hour, so had to go back. Of course there was a bridge that the GPS didn't seem to know existed and it got all confused thinking I was either flying or driving over a river, but that's another story. When I went back I was actually looking for a purple fire fish as there were none anywhere in our area and hadn't been any for weeks and they were expensive. Well they had on for a mere $19.99 but since the QT tank wasn't ready and hubby didn't want to chance me bringing anything bad home he advised against it. But they did have this huge piece of bubble coral. It was at least twice the size of the one that had been for sale locally and it was only $35! So I decided it was coming home with me. They packed it up and then it made the 3 hour trip home with me safe and sound. I kept it seat buckled in and the heat blasting in the car. I was sweating all the way home.
So, it's a stoney coral so it needs magnesium and calcium in the water which is in our salt that we use and the chemi pure so doing water changes takes care of that. Hubby feeds it some mysis every once in a while and several times we have found it with red macro algea in it's mouth that hubby has pulled out. basic lighting according to hubby, we have T5 lights and it's about the middle of our tank which is fairly tall. Seems to do just fine. I don't really get into the technical aspects, I just ask him "can we have this" and I get one of three responses "yes", "no" or "go ask them on the board".

Wearing jewelry definitely attracks them.
See hon, you just need to buy me more jewelry so they attack me just as much LOL
Hubby has swatted at them, chased them away, etc and they still go after him. I think my rings have more things to attract them, but then again, this was the first time I had ever put my hands in the tank and I had just fed them so they were preoccupied
