Ammonia in New Mixed Water ????

that test kit always shows signs of ammonia like around .25 ive had it too

I have that same kit and find it difficult to tell the difference between 0 and .25

Same here, I always freak and take some water to LFS and they tell me its zero lol. I found looking at the test tube in the light of my tank helps out. I have coralife 50/50 lights. I look though the toube at the light and it look much brighter like the zero reading.

At my age and also with the built-in male color blindness I will never be able to tell using that brand kit.

looks to me like you have a slight ammonia problem...i have that same kit and i never have any problems at all... :notsure:
and you can tell that it is working from looking at the freshly mixed water...that is at 0
