Ammonia question

Hi. I started moving my fish from an established 29g into a newly cycled 65g. I moved 2 damsels, 1 Coral Beauty, and 1 Rogue Scorpion over a 4 day period.
I checked my levels today and noticed my ammonia has slightly risen...not quite .25 but not quite 0 according to the card in my test kit.
Is this normal or should I be concerned?
Thanks.

I think any readable level of ammonia is bad. You can buy ammonia-absorbing media, but it might not work fast enough to protect the livestock. Sounds like you are still cycling to me.

A newly cycled system can't can't keep up with such a sharp increase in the bioload. Ideally, the fish should have been transferred over the course of a couple weeks if not more, particularly the angel. Is there LR in the tank?
Any ammonia is bad, but test it couple times a day to make sure it doesn't go higher. A bit of Amquel might be in order.

Okay...I guess I messed this one up.
I have approx 40lbs of LR and 2.5-3" of LS.
My first instinct was to try detoxing. (LFS recommended Prime and that's what I've been using. Prime vs. Amquel?)
Second test (completed about an hour after first) read 0. I had wife check colors to be sure... Really, how many shades of green can they fit on that thing?
Now what? Remove fish from tank... sustain and monitor...??
Any guidance/suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks.

What test kit are you using? Have you ever gotten 0 NH3 reading? Red Sea test kits rarely give true NH3 readings.
Congrats on moving the damsels though, that in itself if an adventure.

Leave the damsels, take everything else out, wait a couple weeks to allow the bacteria to catch with the new bio-load, then add one more of the fish and repeat until everything is transfered. Also, you may want to think about adding more LR, but make sure it is cured first.

What would you suggest as a better test kit? I have trouble with all of the colors and usually take a sample to LFS.
