An idea to eliminate waste water from RO/DI. Will it work?

I have been thinking how much waste water I create making RO/DI and frightened to get my next water bill. I am going on the premise that waste water is actually not bad water just not RO/DI. From most that I read it is actually better filtered than tap. With that I have come up a plan I may try to at least somewhat implement. Feel free to blow it to pieces if I am completely off the mark. Just brainstorming won't take it personal

Here is what you would need
2 large containers (I am thinking about 35g Rubbermaid garbage cans)
RO/DI unit
RO/DI booster pump
optional
ATO
It is actually pretty simple fill the first container with tap water. Have the booster pump pull out of this container into the RO/DI. The RO/DI water goes into the second container and the waste goes back into the first. Then top off the first container as needed with tap. You can set the ATO to auto fill the first container and also shut off the pump if the second container is full.
This is a really simple concept but I think it will work and work without any waste since the waste water is cleaner than tap you never get a buildup in the first container of anything you don't want.
Let me know what I haven't thought of.

Probably would work. The RODI is always going to produce waste water though.
We fill ours into a separate bucket and use it for water plants, etc. Some drain it into their washers. Having a cesspool makes us try to conserve how much we just dump down the drain.

In this setup the waste water is fed back into the source to go through the RO/DI unit again. My understanding is the waste water has nothing wrong with it but is just not completely filtered. I am basically creating a closed loop system for the RO/DI

It looks like my premise that the waste water has actual less TDS than tap may not be correct. I am going to test tonight my tap water, RODI water and waste water to find out for sure.

It would be going back through the unit, so it might not matter. Interested to see what your tests show.

I had the guys at work laughing with this new idea. If i really want to go closed loop I could set my dehumidifier to dump into the source bucket then through the RODI then back into the tank to be evaporated again :)

Lol, now that's being efficient!

As you can tell I really don't feel like working today and have decided to dedicate my day to this instead :)
Lol. What do you think I do everyday? There are a few people on this forum that didn't know I had a job...

The water collected from the dehumidifier is a bad idea.....Don't use that water!!!!! I forget where, but there is a thread about running dual membranes on your RO/DI unit and reusing your waste.....You still will have waste, but not as much.

Ok tests run
Tap 104ppm
RODI 0ppm
Waste water 94ppm
Of course this is a very limited subset so can't be taken as law. Tap was taken after running for 5minutes to clear any standing water in the pipes. The waste water was taken after running for 30 minutes.
Acrylic51,
Why is the dehumidifier water bad? I don't doubt you just can't figure out what in the process would taint it.
