an ideas on this slug thing that was like poofinf smoke in my water?

I snapped on the light late at night in my QT and there it was sitting outside the rock. it looks like some kind of snail but it doesn't look like it has a shell, more like a slug. any ideas??Should I put him back in the main tank?

I got about 20 of all sizes in my tank! They are harmless. Infact they do a good job in eating algy!
