Anemone Changes

When I looked into my tank this morning I found my condylactis gigantica anemone with what looked like no tentacles. As soon as I turned on the lights it started to "expel" them from its foot. I was wondering if anyone else has seen this happen or knows if this is common/normal. I took pictures this morning before I went to work and by the time I was home it was big and beautiful again:) Strange! The pictures are throught the day as it came back to its normal self.

My Haitian did that when I had it. I have no idea what it was doing. It could be protecting itself, it could be too cold, it could be doing any number of things. It's tentacles would come out when the lights came on. It only did it about two times and I had that thing for a couple of months before it got way too big for my tank.

I don't think it is cold, it is always 81-82 in my tank. It could be protecting itself though, I have noticed that the shrimp likes to pick at it once in a while, and he comes out mainly at night so that might be what was going on.

I don't have a condy, but my green bubble tip pretty much does that every night. It will slowly move into a nearby cave like hiding spot and close up like your condy is doing. However, every morning when the lights come on, it's like he wakes up, stretches out, and moves back out into the open. He eats well, and his color looks great, so I think it just might be a quirky thing he likes to do.

Reaching for light during the day, no light at night, no need to reach. Pretty normal me thinks.
