anemone crab?

Does the Anemone crab eed to be with the anemone, or will it be ok on its own?

I havn't really ever thought about it,,but seeing as they use the anemone for protection I would say they really need an anemone...

They can survive on their own, but they are more vulnerable without the protection an anemone offers them. I had one for about a month without an anemone and it did fine, but I had pretty passive fish in the tank with it.

There are a few types of Porcelain crabs that do not host Anemone. Maybe one of those would be better suited for you.
