The only reason I mentioned the LED's is because you asked what would be cheapest in the long run. That answer is most definitely LED lighting.
The smart choice on a 6' tank: Halides.
Where are you located? A lot of people sell used fixtures and you can really save a lot of money. I've only ever bought one set of lights brand new.

Yea I'm in ct I've been looking but don't want to wait too long. Thanks for the info and leds would def be a good choice in the long run. I'm gonna go with that coralife I think.

You could keep anything under the T5 too.

Yea the MH im looking at is 700watts and the T5 is 500watts so I guess the bill wont be that crazy of a difference and the MH light will allow me to put anything I want in the tank.
