i have a 30g tank for about 3 years now and would like to purchase an anemone, but my tank doesnt have sufficient light. So i was wondering what specific lighting does an anemone need before i go off and buy an anemone. I did tons of research on anemones so i think im ready, except for the lighting part. Could some one please help me..

From what I've heard from many other threads is that you want to get a good T-5 fixture with individual reflectors or if you have the money a metal-halide fixture. Some good t-5 brands are TEK, Nova Extreme, or Aqutinics. If you do go with halides be sure to get a chiller for your tank or some fans because they do heat up quite a bit.

You could find a fixture that you could hang from the ceiling. I saw a TEK fixture for about $300 that could be hung. Im not sure if they had the size you listed.

Or check out the metal halides that are available. There is a 20 inch Sunpod 150 watt MH with 6 white and 6 blue led's. I got mine brand new for $250 shipped from an online supply place.

anything a little bit less expensive..
Aquatinics 24" set 5 bulb fixture individual parabolic reflectors HO t5 light set.
the legs are adjustable, and its not hard to make a little bracket if there is some adjusting needed to reach the ends of your tank.

For a 24" deep tank or less... nothing less than HO-T5 lighting. FORGET PC Lighitng for amemones... Anything deeper than a 24" tank consider metal halide lighting. Nova Extreme Pros will work, aquatinics or teks are a better fizxture and offer more options.

That doesnt tell us anything about the type of light or wattage
