He was pretty gone when I got home from work - so we got him out. The purple one seems to be okay at this time. Any idea what might have happened so maybe I could prevent it in the future? I'm not sure if you can tell what happened by the photos or not.

It's too hard to tell, he could have be dying before you got him.
It may have been that you had two in the same tank, can't say for sure.
Anemone's a strange, they require a lot of special conditions.
Just for your information, I wasn't able to keep my anemone, like the one you had, alive either. It might be the species.

i have RBTAs and a condi in the same tank, they are fine together, but that first pic i do belive was a deflated condi, i also belive the orange footed one was also...the guy at the LFS lied to you as i only know of clarkiis to host them, my maroons rip tenticuls off mine if its in their way..the maroons are just mean, but i can say this, my condi has eaten 2 of my cleaner shrimp and my flame angel disapeared and i pin it on him as i didnt find it anywhere around the tank if it had jumped out, or dead in the tank, and it takes my CC about 36 hours to eat a hole fish..so i dont mean to sound mean but its probly a good thing they are not going to make it, then again some people keep condis without any problems, eather way good luck

Hi there, alot of people that have replied to your post have had some great advice! I have been having trouble with my anemones as well! I have attached two photos. They were both bought at the same time, from the same pet store. My white one found a home in a rock and has stayed put. The purple one on the other hand has had some trouble. He moved around alot and even floated around the tank a bit. I think he has finally found a spot where there is little to no water movement. But if you look at the middle of him he is white, I am afraid the stress made him bleach. Is this what bleaching looks like? I have now started to feed the frozen brine shrimp and hopefully the purple on will recover! Good luck with yours!
