Anemone question part III

Ok so I have had this Bubble tip for almost a week. It stuck itself to a rock and is low in the tank. I have PC's and was wondering if it will be ok with the lighting. I would like it to be a little higher so it can get more light but that is where it placed itself. Do these things know what is good or bad for them? I fed it the other day and it eat a silverside so its doing fine I think, but I am concerned over the lack of light its getting.

Cam I know those BOWS and their like 2ft tall, DEFINATELY not enough light, has he moved up a little? How high up is your live rocked stacked?

pretty high, I could get him real close if I could move him. If I go to touch him or something he closes up inside a small crack within the LR. Its crazy. I thought he would have moved. Thats where he went though.

ME and Most everybody here is going to tell you not to muck with him, because ultimately they are going to go where they want to be no matter what. If his foot if planted i dont recommend you pulling him out of there due to damaging him. If hes free floating, put him up to the top and see what he does.

No he's planted and did it himself. Had him up high then my clown picked him up and dropped him to the bottom of the tank. The bubble tip moved from there to the rock. Should I point a powerhead at him or leave him alone? Just don't want it to die.

NO leave him be, he planted, HE WILL AND MUST,, go searching for the light sooner or later, He will do whatever it takes to get there, Move along the glass, sand or rock, but he will do it, cant mess with mother nature and the anemones instincts to survive, give it some time, dont rush. AS long as hes not DEAD, keep an eye on him.

Are you sure don't move it? It looks like it is less green then before. Do these things know what is good for them?

Maybe not a lot of help to you, but here is what I have learned. I have a 58 gallon tank with 96 watt pc lighting. All that is in the tank are a pair of true percs and my bta. The BTA has been doing great. Here is a good sight by a person who uses pc lighting for her anemones. http://www.karensroseanemones.com/index.htm You will notice in all of her pictures that her anemones have longer than normal tentacles. Mine has also grown slightly longer than normal tentacles. This is their way of telling you they aren't getting enough light. I rearranged my rock, creating a long flat surface about halfway up the tank. I placed my bta there, and he has been very happy since. In my experience, no they won't try to move up and get more light. You will have to move it. Also, I have been adjusting my temp slightly to see how it affects my bta, and 79 degrees seems to be its proffered temp. Good luck!
