anemone questions???

ive got a chance to buy a lta but the thing is huge and its too big for my tank. my question is can you seperate these or should i pass on the lta. its 10-12 in big and i have a 45 gal tall

We have a BTA that gets approx. 6-in across when it's inflated, in our 23-gal tank. We're currently having troubles though because we also have a condylactis that we're trying to remove because it could kill the BTA.
So if you're planning on that being your only anemone, I'd go for it if you like it enough :) Just be aware that anemones can zap your corals and I've even heard of them eating fish that got too close.
Under great water conditions eventually the LTA should split on its own. Then you can sell or give away some of it.

There are also guides online to how you can use a razor to split anemones by force, but I think that procedure is usually pretty high-risk.
After some thought, if I were you, I'd just wait to get a smaller anemone. I pulled out a ruler and yeah... 10-12 in is HUGE... lol.

Pass on the LTA and get a BTA instead...only my opinion.
