Probably just trying to recover from the peace of the foot that came off. It might nto fully open for a while fi its trying to regenerate...Im nto sure if that be the case. But if its upside down, which im guessing means the food isnt attatched to anything, or at leats just CC, then i would try to help it out by leaning it over. But if the foot is attatched to the substrate, and its just leaning over, I wouldnt worry about messing with it, because it's just part of the process they go through, sometimes when simply eating or digesting.

In the very first picture, is that the mouth or the foot in the middle? im confused on what you mean by upside down.

Sounds like it has a bit of trauma now. Its going to recoil like a human in the fetal postion. If this is an update from one that I think I remember in earlier threads than I'm still suspecting this is a rather large, sebae.
I also think your camera isn't doing its true color justice. Let me know if that is right?
Well I would seriously hope that your new tank is fully cycled. I also hope that you are checking those water paramiters. There isn't much you can do right now but provied the best atmosphere for it that you can with regards to the water chemistry.
I wish there were some type of liquid band aid we could use but there isn't.
If you have a buddy with a better camera, try to get a better pic for me.

I'm not sure tuning it over will do any good given the turbid water conditions. Hmmm, perhpas if you had a clean pvc pipe that the column would fit into, seat the end of the pvc pipe into the sandbed and gently place the column in to protect the wound from any of the cleanup crew.
Up to you just a thought, otherwise you can try turning it over but think about it before hand, watch the water movment and decide a reasonable place for it to be without it just becoming a tumble weed.
