Well history says I'm not lucky... nor skilled  so I don't know... I'm probably just drop the idea for a while.

I have a BTA with PC lighting 384W in a 125G, but have the LR within 8" of the lights. When I first put him in about 2 months ago, I put him at the top where I thought would be the optimal location. However, he moved around for a couple of days, and ended up lower in the rock structure and orients himself to the light. He seems to be doing fine, but I guess time will tell. I figure if he wants more light, he has the option to go higher. I just added a LTA with purple tentacles that has also located himself in such a manner, but have only had for a week so too soon to tell with him also. If you'd like I can keep you posted on their progress or lack thereof:joy:

I just lost the Long Tentacled Anemone yesterday. I only had it for about 4 days. It didn't look or act well when I got it home, but lots of TLC didn't seem to help. The BTA is still doing great. I think the hardest thing, for me anyway is knowing which ones are healthy and which one's aren't when I go to purchase them. This was only my second one and the first loss. All my tank parameters are fine, so I'm not sure what happened, other than he wasn't healthy when I got him. I'm not going to let it discourage me, but will probably wait a little while before buying again.

I have a BTA. I usta have Coralife's aqualight on my tank (4-65 watt power compacts) and my BTA was so high in the tank, that if my water level dropped even an inch, his foot was in air. So I upgraded to MH's, and he found a cozy little home on a rock...for a while, then he started cruisin' again, but that's a different story. My point was that I don't think my BTA had enough light with my pc's.:)

I've got 4x96w pc lighting and plenty of room at the top where I put them to start, but they end up moving down towards the middle. The BTA is doing fine, so I'm not sure if lighting was the problem with the LTA, especially after 4 days.
