i have a 40 gal system that has had an anemone floating on the surface for about 12 hours it barely responds to touch has he gone to the big aquarium in the sky? all my levels are good nitrates nitrites ph salinity

That doesnt sound good.He has lost two of the most important clues to his health.Responding to touch,and his abiblity to grab onto something.I would say get it out of the tank now.If you are not convinced he is a goner,you could put it in a hospital tank and watch it.

it responds to touch his tentacles retract when you touch it and they are sticky so it still is alive the lfs said this is normal that it is trying to relocate but i didn't know if it was normal to float like this for at least 12 hrs now

now it has stopped floating and has attached itself to the glass near the surface.

Hopefully it was a false alarm...By your first post it sounded worse than it was.Hope it will be OK.
