First of all make sure your tank is ready for an anemone. Anemones are very sensitive to poor water conditions, more sensitive than fish and coral. Your water conditions need to be stable, with no fluctuations, must have very low nitrates and of course no ammonia and nitrites. Plus good lights, T5 or better.
If all this is true, then you can buy one. What I do is I temp acclimate the anemone in the bag it came in by floating it in the tank for halfhour. After that, I reach in the bag and pull out the anemone. Sort of cup it with your hand on the bottom of the anemone. Then I just lay it down on a rock in the tank. The anemone will move where it wants to go, so placement is not important.

You can use your bare hands or if that bothers you can get some "POWDER FREE" latex gloves and put one of those on. As stated above make sure your tank is established and the water parameters and water quality is great.

I disagree with your book. I think it's a terrible idea for a new hobbiest to get an Anemone. Wait until you have some experience under your belt in my opinion.

I agree, and without sounding like i am scolding, becase I am not. Going on the lack of knowledge you projected through your question, an anemone for your tank right now would be a very very bad idea. There are many criteria that need to be met by your tank. And much more experience needed by you as a hobbiest before its even thought of. IMO. Research research research and ask questions. Your on the right track with buying books to read.. but the one you have doesnt appear to be too accurate.
Remember, the only stupid question is the one not asked.
