"This is a Cup Coral, and it is about 1" wide. I discovered it deep within the rockwork of my reef tank. It is almost invisible during the daytime, but late at night with a flashlight I could see it quite easily. The tricky part was getting a picture. ;) It looks very similar to a Suncoral polyp, but the tentacles are clear with tiny speckles. Usually Cup Corals come in as hitchhikers on Live Rock (LR) such as from Tampa Bay Saltwater (an online vendor). I have since found a few more of these growing in my tank, but always within the rocks and out of sight. Reef-safe."

Hi,
In my LFS I saw a blue Aphasia. I didn't know what it was so I asked. It was a stinger and a bad thing, pretty or not.
I had never seen blue, and I mean blue like hippo tang blue, so brown and ugly is not a good way to decide if it is aphasia.
Your picture sure looks like aphasia to me. 4 of them in a single tank doesn't sound like a cup coral hitchhiker. JMO

Is this a good anemone or aiptasia? I have about 4 of them there the size of a 50 cent Thanks James
Welp, not for nothing, but my Copperbanded Butteryfly Fish sure does love those things. THey multiply like mad
behind the rocks, and everyonce in awhile I turn a few over, and he gobbles them right up.
