Just kidding about the spelling, but I didn't want to go look it up.
I know many ppl think they are best left in the ocean, but I find them very interesting.
I have a 125 gallon with 640 watts VHO, 2 12k and 2 super actinic.
ca 425
alk 8dkh
I am thinking about a BTA, but would like opinions on success rates and danger of wiping out the tank if it dies.
Please include pics

It's been up for a year now. I listed ca and alk, ph is at 8.1, magnesium is 1140, I have some on order to get it back up to 1300.
no ammonia trites or trates.

if you keep your water quality perfect, it should do great, and if it dies and you take it out right away, it should not pollute your tank.

What are the chances of one dying and wiping out a tank?

They aren't like cucumbers, sea apples, and the like... if BTA's die, they don't nuke the tank with toxins. They literally turn inside out. Its a really nasty mess. If it looks ill - be prepared to remove it asap to avoid getting a tank full of slimey anemononone bits.
