Anemones and Urchins?

I was wondering if I could put anemones in with a tank that has an urchin or if i should look into getting rid of my urchin. I have two clownfish and really love anemones so i would love to put them in. Let me know what you all think.cj

i think that the urchins are bad with most coral cause they may knock them over, i would gert rid of the urchin if u have any coral u want in the tank

I have two RBTAs, one WBTA, and a violet LTA along with several urchins and TONS of corals. Nobody has bothered anybody else. If anything, some species of urchin might be damaging to some corals, but I wouldn't worry about the urchins with the anemones at all. An urchin can't hurt an anemone, and if the urchin gets too close and doesn't like the anemone, it can always move away. They are both motile organisms, so i don't think you have to worry.

I'll also chime in, albeit a bit late. I have a longspine in a 55 with a BTA and two of his clones, and he never bothers them. The BTAs sit in cracks that they shrink down into a night, so by the time the urchin comes out, they are out of the way. Of course, with the longspine, he really can't get close enough for the BTAs to hurt him.
Of course, I am quickly growing weary of the urchin in this display tank, because they eat so much coraline.

sorry its been a few days but i am getting new lighting I was told to get a power compact 130 watt lighting system. Do I need more? If so how much more because I was reading on the web that they need high to moderate lighting and that is not telling me much so if you could help me out that would be great. :help:

i believe for your tank (30g) the 130w pc should be sufficient.
when you get a bigger tank you can look into getting an mh light.
and stop being so damn polite.
