anemones I.D. and ?

i've had this guy for about two weeks now with a maroon clow that has not hosted to him yet. as you can see from pic. he has released from the black rock in the corner.will these guys crawl around the tank or should i place him on a new rock? what type of anemone is he? and will this type of clown host to this anemone? thanks for the input.

okay i dont reall know what kind of anemone?
let him wonder arond on his own DONT move him he will stay put when hes happy (watch youre power heads)it might be on the bottom it might be on the glass and it might be on a rock.
now a few q....
do you only have one clown?
what size tank?
how old is the tank?
and what kind of lighting do u have?

it is a 110 gal tank. yes there is only one clown. i have the T5 HO florescent bulbs 48 in''one white one blue that run about 7 hrs aday. the tank has been running for 4yrs there is also a scorpion fish,cc star fish,4striped pain in the @%& damsel,and a coaral beauty.
thank for any and all advice

looks like a condylactis anemone. Clownfish do not host these in the wild so they are very hard to get to host in captivity. Not to say it hasn't happened, just not as likely. They have also been known to eat a clownfish trying to host.

no the sand has been in the tank from the start except for when i moved and the rock the same. i do change the rock formation around once and awhile.

How do you keep it so clean then???? And even the glass...and everything else too

i clean my glass with magnetic cleaner every few days i only run my light for 6-7 hrs a day think i may reset my timer for a little longer for anem. frequent water changes when i clean out my bioball filters not the balls . and a lot of luck!!!!!! i think more of that than me

im sorry not what did you feed it what did you feed. im new to the inverts and corals have been fish only for most of the time but time to experiance some new things in the hobby.

Take the anemone back to the local fish store for some in store credit. It will not thrive under the lighting you have. If you want to keep an anemone in a 110 gallon tank you are going to need about 6- 8 of those bulbs or a metal halide addition. You are not getting enough PAR to the bottom of that tank to support this creature.
