We theres alot of different choices. However I would recommend you wait until your tank in about 6 months old or so to ensure it will do well, also some Metal Halide lighting for it. Ive got the same tank as you, and if you are considering getting MH lighting, theres a brand by Current USA (the guys who make the Aquapod) called Sunpod and its made for our tanks specifically. Might be a good investment, because not only can you do anemones with it but SPS :)

Its not very easy on the pockets Im afraid. Not positive but I think around the 300$ mark. If I were you and if youre like me with not that kind of money hangin around, Id stick with the LPS and softies and work with that until youre really looking for a change, and then upgrade to it. You can still have alot of fun with mushrooms, colt coral, candy canes, zoos, xenia, etc...

FYI All anemones will eventually out grow a tank this size and smaller... Certain types of glass anemones are kept as inhabitants dispite the fact that they are of the aptasia family. They dont multiply the same and are not a pain to have, and they have nice coloration.

correct, it would not be ok, and i have first hand experience. this is what happened, i wanted a rose bubble tip anemone because of how beautiful they are. soo i go into my lfs who had some great ones in and i start asking questions and what not. from their stand point it seems pretty easy to maintain one. when i ask the question. i have a 14 gallon nano cube will i have enough lighting and flow. their answer is o yea u do go for it man spend $80 in our store then come back for more. so i get home acclimate it and it looks great. next day shrivled up. next day after that gave it away. now i have a 29gallon sps tank and got a rbta and it is huge and very awsome red coloration. and it bubbles. but then again i have a 150watt mh with a 10k hqi bulb. my par is very good and flow is about 1100gph. unless u want to mod ur aquapod it is a waste of ur money and the anemones life. u need to get a mh for ur tank no exceptions. i would reccomend a oceanic aquamedic 150watt with a 10k hqi bulb. they run u about $289.00 U.S dollars

probably shriveled up because it was expelling waste or adjusting the water chemistry within itself to match that of the tank's.
its not recommended for beginners to put an anemone in a tank in the first month because usually the hobbyist has no idea about water parameters, barely knows anything about the nitrogen cycle and usually uses bad water to start off with, and knows little about lighting. not to mention the tank is going through algae blooms
i say just wait 6 months and read up on it. you also have to realize that when you have an anemone youre going to risk having it move and stinging and killing your corals. theyre not reef safe. id say a reef tank would be more appealing

I have a 24 gallon with a GBTA, and until recently I thought that it was great as far as size. Well I was slightly wrong. I have the 150w 14k HQI upgrade canopy and it is GREAT! The anemone is SUPER healthy and growing but it recently split and that was a problem. It was great for like 3 days but then the new half grew up (sniff as they all will) and wanted to move out. So he started to roam around looking for a new home, well I got to him before he stung anything and gave him to a friend. But if that happened again I might not be so lucky. I would not personally put another in a 24 or smaller or honestly even a 29. I am about to get a 46g and move it in there. Good luck, oh and if you get the upgrade canopy you NEED a chiller. I bout the jbj arctic and its SWEET! super quiet and VERY cost efficient (on electric bills) a little pricey but they all are!
