:nervous: Hope someone can help me identify these creatures. I found a picture of a Anemonia Majano, but not sure if these are them. Sure hope not. They are starting to multiply in my tank and they seem to be depleting some of my polyps. I bought a couple of nudi's to get rid of some Apet's. They don't seem to do anything with these though. Help, please identify so I know what to do. Thanks. Tush

 Sorry, my digital camera is not the best & am afraid to get it too big. Hope this is better, if not, let me know again please. I think in this picture there are about 8 of them. Thanks again, Tush

well they certainly look like majano to me.kinda hard to tell but i have some too and they do resemble that basic shape and color.i am able to keep mine under control with joes juice.ill tell you this much, you should do something about them now before they get out of hand.i let that happen a while back and it was frustrating.it is my belief that once the m/fers show up in your tank you never really have a chance to get rid of them, just kinda control them.they make it to places you never even knew they could and the next thing you know you start seein them again.i have joes juice and it works real well, tryin to control my nitrate levels to to help.finally got them to 0 for awhile now and their multiplication ability has really dropped off.a few in tank looks cool i think, just not the monster proportions they can reach.get rid of em.....

 Thanks a bunch. I tried to take more of them closer, but just couldn't get a clear pic of them. I know they come off easy as when I was first trying to get rid of the Apt's, one fell off in my hand. Duh, I put it back. Thanks again, Tush

maybe i am misunderstanding you,but i would not remove them by hand as they reproduce quickly when lacerated.one little peice stays and then you have two off the one and so on.the best way i think to get rid of them is chemically and trying to control nutrient levels.no prblem on the respones, anytime

:) Good evening. Just thought I'd let you know that I found another website with some pictures of these things. And sure enough, that's what I have. Tonight I tried taking more pics but still came out a bit fuzzy. I ordered some JoesJuice also tonight. Funny thing though, I was trying to take these pic's tonight & I found another little creature. At first I thought it might be a red bubble algae, but this one seems to have an opening. And it is sensitive to light & movement. Had to turn camera unside down to get the picture. It's a bubble type with a small cone/cylinder on the top of it. Any idea's of what it might be? I'm posting two pic's, The second one is a closer look at the opening on top. Thanks again for the help. Tush

It's a reddish bubble about the size of a pea. It has an opening on the top of it. It does not move around, just stays in same spot. The top has an opening like a tube, but it is sensitive to movement & light. Found it when trying to take another picture & looking for my nubi's I put in the tank to kill my Apet's(spelling??). Looks like it just fills up with water. To me, it looks more like a slug, but one that doesn't go anywhere.

Would love to find a sea squirt in my tank! Joes juice works to keep the aptasia you have in control but they do come back a few days later. The Juice kills the polyp portion but they are so deeply imbedded that the juice does not get the bottom of them and they do grow back., Can someone tell us how safe the juice is for prolonged periods of time. It makes me nervous to have to use it all the time. I have only very few of the majanos, but keep them controlled because I have seen how they can take over. A friends tank became inundated with them. She took all her corals out, except zoanthids and mushrooms, put in a butterfly fish? I think it was and in literally three to four days it ate hundreds of those aptasia. Then it started in on her zoanthids and before she could take it back to our LFS it ate her mushrooms. Not the way to go. However she put everything back into her new and bigger tank and the zoanthids grew back slowly but not the shrooms. The tank is gorgeous however! But those type of aptasia are aggressive. So it's high nutrients that cause their growth? Excessive feeding?
